Fox 29’s Karen Hepp packs the house
for her April Tasty Talk at Yangming.

More than 100 animated guests filled the Yangming ballroom to hear Karen Hepp’s April 18 Tasty Talk, including Fox 29’s Mike Jerrick, Sue Serio, Thomas Drayton and Quincy Harris, who all came to support their Good Day Philadelphia co-star.

Karen’s Tasty Talk really explored how we make a difference: “For me, the big question is, how do we bring meaning into each others lives? Who will be there for you in your life when you most need them? I’ve chosen a couple of things that really matter to me – things that I have a passion for – where I can contribute. When I was a little girl in school in Chester County, moms would come in and teach us about Van Gogh and Starry Night and Marc Chagall. It blew me away! Now that I have kids, I’m teaching art at my kid’s Friends School.”

“Later in my life,” Karen continued, “a friend told me, it’s time for you to make a bigger contribution, and serve on a board. Now I’m on the board of LifeCycle WomanCare. They were there during my pregnancy, and what they do is amazing. Their care changes people’s lives. You can go there from the time you’re a young woman, through all the cycles of your life.”

As always, Tasty Talk co-Chairs Realtor Michelle Leonard and Dr. Thanuja Hamilton assembled a luminous guest list, including Tasty Talk alumni Eddie Keels and WOGL morning host Marilyn Russell, Kristen Herrmann from Ben FM, and numerous local media publishers, bloggers and creative professionals. Karen’s husband Brian and parents were in the house, along with friends from her alma mater, the Agnes Irwin School, and an enthusiastic group from LifeCycle WomanCare – the beneficiary of Karen’s Talk.

Yangming proprietor Michael Wei expressed his sincere thanks to all of the guests who have become Tasty Talk regulars, and noted with pride the community that is forming: “Yangming now welcomes over 90 guests for each Talk. It feels like a neighborhood block party, where everybody comes to see their friends.”

Yangming’s next Tasty Talk on Wednesday, May 30 features accomplished entrepreneur and healthcare advocate Reneé Amoore, founder and president of The Amoore Group, and benefits the Ramsey Educational Development Institute. Hors d’oeuvres begin at 12:30, followed by Reneé s talk, a wonderful family-style lunch and dessert, all for just $20, including tax and tip ($25 at the door, if seats available). Call 610-527-3200 now to reserve via credit card.
