NBC10 Rising Star Miguel Martinez-Valle to speak at the November 20 Tasty Talks.

On Wednesday, November 20th at 12:30pm, rising star Miguel Martinez-Valle will share his experiences and insights with the loyal fans and celebrity guests of Tasty Talks. Realtor Michelle Leonard, Tasty Talks’ host and founder, promises the growing community of Tasty Talks’ fans and friends a wonderful speaker and a memorable meal.

Miguel Martinez-Valle joined NBC10 in December 2017 as a reporter and multimedia journalist. Watching his live reports throughout the day, you can feel his concern for the communities he serves and the human stories he shares. Born in Guaymas, Mexico, Miguel is passionate about LGBTQ issues, immigration, and expanding positive minority representation on television.

Prior to joining NBC10, Miguel spent two years as a reporter at KVVU-TV, Las Vegas, where he was honored with an Emmy award for his coverage of the 2016 Presidential Debate.

“The most memorable story I covered in Las Vegas was the tragic October 2017 shooting. “The shooting itself was heartbreaking. However, reporting on the community pulling together to give blood, donate money, and comfort each other was truly inspiring.”

Miguel has also worked as a reporter at Univision Las Vegas / KINC-TV; as a reporter/anchor at HOM-TV in Okemos, Michigan; and as a reporter and radio producer for WDBM-FM in East Lansing, Michigan.

Mighty Writers El Futuro is Miguel’s November Tasty Talk charity.

As you enjoy the socializing, the food, the picture-taking and our celebrity speakers, it’s easy to forget that every Tasty Talk is a benefit for a deserving organization selected by our speaker. This month’s Tasty Talk will provide vital funds for Mighty Writers El Futuro, which teaches kids from toddlers to teens to think clearly and write with clarity and passion.

Each year, over 400 volunteer writers, playwrights, filmmakers and artists lead free daily writing academies and dozens of workshops at neighborhood locations in Philadelphia and Camden. Many workshops incorporate both Spanish and English into student assignments.
