Fox 29 Weather Anchor Sue Serio to launch Season Three of Tasty Talks on Wed, Sept 25.

Fox 29 Weather Anchor Sue Serio to launch Season Three of Tasty Talks on Wed, Sept 25.

Coming September 25 at 12:30pm, Tasty Talks host Realtor Michelle Leonard will launch Season Three with guest speaker Sue Serio. For 22 years, Good Day Philadelphia’s beloved meteorologist has kept the Delaware Valley and Jersey shore alerted to everything from thunderstorms and blizzards to heat waves. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has honored the five time Emmy nominee with their Outstanding Achievement Award.

Sue started her broadcasting career at WMAR-FM, Baltimore. She’s been the midday radio host for WBAL, Baltimore; the morning show co-host for both WSTW, Wilmington and WKSZ-FM in Wisconsin; and host and producer of “Magic After Dark” on WMGK, Philadelphia. And after receiving her Broadcast Meteorology Certificate from Mississippi State University in 1995, Sue covered the weather and reported feature stories for WHYY-TV’s evening PBS newscast, and co-anchored the top-rated morning show and “News at Noon” program at WIVB-TV in Buffalo.

For Sue, giving back means doing the weather report with kids for charity.

A resident of Delaware County, Sue volunteers her time at the Media Theatre, Tyler Arboretum, and the SPCA; co-chairs the local Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk; serves on the Advisory Board of Main Line Animal Rescue, and has served on the Board of the Camden Children’s Garden. In the studio, Sue often shares the green screen with children who “do the weather with Sue” to benefit local charities. A career highlight: she once let movie star Mark Wahlberg do her job on the air!

Sue’s Charity is the Alzheimer’s Association.

For her Tasty Talk charity, Sue has chosen the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, which serves 18 counties in Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware. This alliance of family members and professionals helps people living with Alzheimers through education, advocacy and support, and is committed to eliminating the disease through research and reducing the risk of dementia by promoting brain health.
